Restaurant
Dine, drink and celebrate
The lovingly prepared
specialties that we serve you in our restaurant are all based on the very down-to-earth
Swabian cuisine. On our menu, you will find traditional dishes from Upper Swabia, like Maultaschen (Swabian raviolis) and spaetzle, refined with seasonal ingredients like asparagus or wild garlic.
Our chef’s specialties are savoury stews from the Allgaeu as well as lighter meals based on fresh fish from the near Lake Constance.
With just a few examples from our menu, we’d like to give your taste-buds a small anticipation of the delights that will await you in your holiday:
Mixed starter dish with melon, asparagus, Parma ham, duck breast, feta cheese and dried tomatoes served with butter and rye bread
-
Catfish fillet in almond butter with saffron rice and spinach
-
"Gaisburger Marsch", a Swabian beef stew, with egg spaetzle and mixed vegetables
-
Short pastry tartlets filled with Curaçao yogurt and raspberries, accompanied by fresh fruit
Local wines:
As the name suggests, Weingarten (the „wine garden“) and Ravensburg are wine-growing areas, and they have been already since the 12th century. Viticulture has an even older
tradition in the immediate Lake Constance region; here winegrowing can be dated back to Roman times. Not far from Weingarten are the well known wine-growing areas of Meersburg, Immenstaad, Markdorf and Friedrichshafen.
The sunny hillsides all around
Lake Constance generate first-class white wines like the
Müller-Thurgau and the
Weißburgunder (Pinot blanc). Among the red wines, the one that thrives best in the Mediterranean maritime climate is certainly the
Spätburgunder (Pinot noir). Taste a fine glass of wine in your holiday and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere in our family-run hotel.

The project LandZunge “Tongue(of land)”
The region’s best produce fresh on your table! A campaign by the best restaurants and the best producers
The concept LandZunge „Tongue(of land)“ stands for
regional recipes as well as for
rural tradition – all newly discovered, improvised and refined, for all lovers of an authentic cuisine with products of the highest quality. LandZunge is a campaign for gourmets; it stands both for the specialties of the region as well as of each single restaurant. The Altdorfer Hof is proud to be a part of this ambitious project and to be able to offer regional products fresh to the table.
The programme provides also for excursions into the international cuisine – of course with the use of our own regional products.
In association with the campaign LandZunge, the Altdorfer Hof offers regularly special treats concordant to the seasons, for example lamb at Easter, venison in autumn, fish in summer, traditional slaughter-feasts and much more. We look forward to spoiling your palate!
